Introduction to E-Services (THACO Group)

THACO Group is a leading multi-industry corporation in Vietnam, possessing a large-scale network of showrooms and service centers nationwide. Within its digital transformation roadmap, THACO aims to apply AI technology and data to enhance operational efficiency and the customer experience at direct physical touchpoints, specifically showrooms.

Current Situation and Improvement Goals

Current Situation

Across the THACO showroom network, the management and tracking of vehicle traffic primarily relied on manual processes, lacking a centralized recognition and analysis software system. Key limitations included:

      • Inability to clearly differentiate and categorize customer vehicles, employee vehicles, and guest vehicles.
      • A lack of data to analyze customer behavior, return frequency, and arrival times at the showroom.
      • Employees were required to handle numerous manual tasks, depending entirely on traditional workflows.
      • The customer reception experience was inconsistent and lacked personalization.

These limitations hindered the showrooms’ ability to optimize operations, extract tangible value from customer data, and deliver a modern reception experience aligned with the digital transformation context.

Improvement Goals

The Camera AI E-Service project was implemented with the objective of building an intelligent recognition and analysis system to support efficient showroom operations and elevate the customer experience.

Remote AI Camera Recognition to:

      • Count, track, and categorize vehicles entering and exiting the showroom.
      • Identify customers who have booked appointments in advance via the application.
      • Instantly notify staff when a customer arrives at the showroom.

Reduce Manual Workload & Optimize Workflows:

      • Schedule and coordinate personnel effectively.
      • Proactively welcome and attend to customers.

Enhance the Touchpoint Experience:

      • Display personalized welcome messages and customer check-in information on a 100-inch LED screen.
      • Create a highly professional and modern technological impression for the showroom.

Addressing the need to optimize showroom operations and enhance the customer experience based on real-time data, THACO required a smart technology solution capable of connecting systems, people, and behaviors at the physical touchpoint. Consequently, TOT proposed and deployed the following solution:

Camera AI E-Service

TOT developed the E-Service AI Camera as an intelligent software component within THACO’s digital ecosystem, acting as the central hub connecting data, systems, and personnel.

Multi-Platform Smart Bridge

The system functions as a bridge between:

      • The customer application.
      • The AI Camera system at the showroom.
      • Customer care personnel.

All data and service history are fully synchronized and managed centrally across the entire system.

Implementation Scope

      1. AI Recognition & Analysis Camera System
      • Deployed a camera system at the showroom entrance to capture vehicle images.
      • Applied AI to recognize license plates and cross-reference data with the central management system.
      • Categorized vehicles into specific groups: customers with appointments, walk-in guests, and employees.

      • Synchronized data from the DDMS system to the central CMS to verify appointment statuses.
      • Architected intelligent processing workflows:
        • Customers with appointments: Display personalized information and welcome messages on the LED screen.
        • Customers without appointments: Display a general welcome notification.

AI application in customer experience

      1. Real-time Display Experience
      • Developed an interface to display content on the 100-inch LED screen in real time.
      • Enabled staff to access customer information in advance, facilitating proactive reception.

      • Tracked real-time vehicle traffic statistics.
      • Analyzed customer return frequency.
      • Evaluated operational efficiency by individual showroom and time frame.

        • OpenAI: Assisting with logic processing and flexible display content.

Following the deployment and live operation of the E-Service AI Camera solution at the showrooms, the system recorded distinct improvements in customer reception, data management, and operational optimization driven by AI and real-time analytics.
